I am not a relative of the Vlasak family, but came across this obit in the 1932 Beemer Times while researching my own family history. It is my hope someone will find this information helpful.
Vasclove (James) B Vlasak passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs Joe Kucera on Fridya, July 1st after a long illness. Funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon, Rev Philippi of Clarkson officiating, and interment made in Beemer cemetery beside the body of his wife.
Mr Vlasak was born September 7, 1852 in Vavilnec, Bohemia and came to America in 1901, locating in Chicago where his wife joined him a year later. He was married to Miss Barbara Mocha to which union 8 children were born, six of whom, with the mother, preceeded him in death.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs Bessie Bartak of Clarkson and Mrs. Barbara Kucera of Beemer and 4 sisters and 2 brothers in Bohemia.
Mr Vlasak for many years piled his trade as taylor here in Beemer and was well known for the excellence of his workmanship. Failing health forced him to give up his work afew years ago since which time he has made his home with his daughter and family.
