A Robert Beausire was born in St Lucia 8th July 1806, died 13 January 1884 and buried in Flaybrick Cemetery, Birkenhead. He married Janet Franceys 30th September 1830 at St Mary's, Edge Hill, Lancashire. She was born 23 August 1818 in London, died 6 September 1888 and buried in the same grave as her husband. Their eldest son Joseph Herbert Beausire (13 June 1883 - 9 January 1907) founded a trading company with Lima, Peru.

Thank you very much indeed, that was very helpful and has fillied quite a few gaps.
Do you by chance have anything on the early Beausire? I have a little but it is a bit tenuous.
Please advise if you would like my direct email.

Sorry that is as far back as I go. My interest in this family centres around a house their grandson (Joseph Pemberton Beausire 1880 - 1945) , built at Carrog, Denbighshire around 1930. The grave at Flaybrick is surmounted by a very impressive cross and contains twelve of their descendents. We are going to Liverpool tomorrow to see the architects files and to seek obitaries etc from the LIverpool Mercury/Post.

An update to my earlier post. Robert and Henry Beausire (both born St Lucia) were the sons of Joseph Beausire. I have now discovered that Robert Beausire was married twice. Firstly to Jessey Franceys, daughter of Thomas Franceys and Mary Sproston, 30 Sep 1830 at St Mary's, Edge Hill. She was buried 6 Mar 1842 at St Hilary's, Wallasey. He married secondly Janet Maria Martha Perkins, 15 Mar 1843 at St Hilary's, Wallasey. She was born 23 Aug 1818 in Chelsea and died 6 Sep 1888. The earlier confusion arose from the inscription on the memorial at Flaybrick. It is strange the Joseph Herbert Beausire, who owned the grave, commorates his father (who is not buried there) and stepmother (who is) but makes no mention of his mother.

Can you tell me how you for sure that Joseph Beausire was the father of Robert and Henry? Do you know anymore about Joseph and his siblings/parents, especially where Joseph was born? I am still trying find a firm provable link with Beausire into my family but so far without success. I have, identified a
Beausire Joseph : born in the city of METZ (France) on July 12, 1771 , captain of artillery , member in 1807 of the Saint Lucian masonic lodge of Carenage ( former name for Castries)
but that was a simple fact with no other links. Is that the same Joseph do you think? That information came to me from a third party.
Many thanks.

Census records indicate that Robert was born in St Lucia (Uk 1861, 1871and 1881) . Second marriage of Robert and marriage of Henry both give their father as Joseph.

In further response to your post I can confirm that Joseph and his descendents were members of the Church of England i e Protestants. St Saviour's Church, Oxton, Cheshire contains many items in memory of various members of his family. I remember seeing on the internet in some military index mention of a Joseph Beausire being a major in the British Army. Robert named his eldest son, by his first wife, Joseph Herbert who in turn named one of his sons Joseph Pemberton

Thank you. My information is that my line of Beausire originated in Metz in what is now France, and possibly went as a mercenary to the West Indies. I have an unproven birth date of 12 July 1771, and rumours of a sister named Isabel who remained in Metz. Then the trail goes cold until it appears as part of a family name in St Lucia. We believe that a female Beausire married a Thomas Parker and had 2 daughters, Isabella and Lydia probably around 1840. I am trying to find the links.
