What is the best way to find and or search census records for a city and not the US as a whole? For example I am looking for the Census record in Los Angeles for the late 1950's trying to find my Great Grandfathers Place of Residents, his address is a street that does not show in any map search or google earth it may have been changed. Also trying to find the actual land legal description is this search possible through Ancestry? Thank you

" I am looking for the Census record in Los Angeles for the late 1950's"
Since the last census available to the public is 1940, this is mission impossible.

"his address is a street that does not show in any map"
What is the address?
Who is the name of the target?

Although the 1950 census won't be out until 2022, we at Stevemorse.org have put up location finder aids for it. I have transcribed the street index for the City of Los Angeles, and you can find it on our "unified tool" on the website in the census section. Just change the year to 1950 at the top.

In addition, the National Archives has put online 20 submaps of the City of Los Angeles dated around 1950.

It would help if you had told us the address.
