Acerca de U.S., Album of Criminals, 1906
Created by the International Association of Chiefs of Police in the year 1906, the album of criminals includes the mugshots, aliases, physical descriptions, and criminal records of more than 200 men and women. In some cases, you’ll find the names of associates as well.
Physical descriptions include marks, scars, and Bertillon measurements. Devised by French criminologist, Alphonse Bertillon, the Bertillon System of Criminal Identification used a person's height and measurement of the head, torso and other body parts as a means of identification.
The collection can be searched by name, age, event date and location. Aliases were indexed and the criminal record often notes when the aliases were adopted. You’ll also learn of any prison terms and fines resulting from your relatives brushes with the law.
