Searching for info on family of George W. Byrn that moved into the county about 1870. Married Elizabeth Sharp in 1877. Prior to that he had another wife and daughter Isabelle born about 1872 in Gibson county. He later had a son Grover born about 1885. These two families lived in the area from 1870 to 1924. Hopefully someone knows about them. Thanks

According to the Gibson County Cemetery Database, there is a George W. Byrn buried in Maumee Cemetery, Montgomery Township, Gibson County, Indiana:

George W. Byrn
b. 2/22/1850
d. 10/15/1917

There was also listed an Eliza Byrn (b. 4/14/1862; d. 7/12/1932).

I did not see a listing for either Isabelle or Grover.

Thanks for the reply. I have been to Gibson County to visit the gravesite of George and Elizabeth this past summer. Isabella Byrn married Leroy Richardson in Wabash County, Illinois in 1893. Census 1900, Gibson Co., Indiana shows Leroy living with a new wife Ada B. Can you find Isabella Richardson death record in Gibson Co area between 1894 and 1900?? Also need a second marriage record for Leroy in the Gibson area. I checked Illinois and did not find a second record for him. Thanks for help. Jane

I checked the Gibson County Death Index and several of the cemetery transcriptions for various townships but did not find a listing for Isabelle Richardson.

I also checked the Gibson County Marriage Index (1882 - 1920) and the Marriage Applications for the time period that you gave me but did not find a listing for Leroy Richardson. I also checked the Pike County Marriage Index and the Vanderburgh County Marriage Index but did not find anything in them either.

I did, however, find on the "Database of Illinois Death Certificates (1916 - 1950)" a listing for Leroy Richardson who died in Wabash County (Road District #1), Illinois on 2/15/1917.

Thanks for your efforts. I found a 1920 census record showing Isabella and Leroy Richardson living in Columbia, Gibson County. But couldn't find a 1930 census record for Indiana. They could have died in that span. It seems that Leroy and Isabella crossed the state line and married in Wabash County, Illinois (5-18-1893). It would seem that at least one of them would have died in Gibson County in 1920 or later. What is your data source? Online subscriptions or books? Thanks again.

The Gibson County Death Index book covers the period from 1882 - 1920. If they died after 1920, I can go to the Gibson County Health Dept. and check their records. Also, in the 1920 Census was Leroy married to Isabella or Ada?

Census 1920, as I read it, says Iba Richardson. Born in the right state and is right age for Isabella, so I believe Isabella to still be the wife. They have Herman Richardson listed as son living with them, age 26. He is not their biological son. Must be a nephew or cousin. They have three children: John W., Alma P., and Violet M. if you bump into them. I'd like to know what happened to them, but not necessary. Thanks again for Gibson assistance!

I checked the Death Records at the Gibson County Health Dept. but did not find a listing for either Leroy Richardson or Isabella Richardson. At the Library, I checked the Montgomery Cemetery listings in Columbia Township and found several Richardsons but nothing for Leroy or Isabella. There was an Ida Richardson (b. 1870; d. 1940) but she was married to Perry Richardson. There was also an Alma M. Richardson listed (3/6/1910 - 8/30/1913) but she was the daughter of Emery J. & Clara E. (Battram) Richardson. I did find in the Gibson County Birth Index book (1882 - 1920) a male child born on 2/4/1897 to Leroy Richardson and Isabel Burns.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful to you!
